• Kelly Stiglich


    Kelly Stiglich, 500 E-RYT is the founder and owner of Peoples Yoga & Aerial Fitness.    Her mission is to empower students to find their own way.  She believes there is a point in our lives that we just feel like there must be more. Whether it is to be a different kind of parent, spouse, friend, or to find what our life purpose, our brilliance is. It is the restless sound of our soul trying to wake us up!  Kelly discovered this gentle whisper on her yoga mat.   She came to yoga for purely physical reasons.  A leaner, better looking body, but what she got from yoga was so much more than physical.  She discovered peace, joy, fear, anger, frustration, love, compassion, tolerance, and complete acceptance.

    Kelly has also been a dance fitness instructor for over 25 years with certifications in Aqua Zumba, Zumba Gold as well as Basic 1 & 2 Zumba. She has choreographed routines for local award-winning body builders and currently offers coaching for the body, mind, and spirit. Kelly believes that there isn’t a “master diet” that will allow the body to lose weight and become balanced. She can show you that every “body” is different and each craves balance through healthy food, exercise suited for you, and soul balancing.

    Kelly is a 500 E-RYT and Ayurveda Specialist and registered through the Yoga Alliance. She studied under Jackie Chiodo, at Anamaya, learning the classical path of Raja Yoga, which is based on the 8 limbs of Patanijali’s yoga sutras, Ayurveda and various styles of yoga.  Kelly brings a greater understanding of why different styles of yoga are so beneficial for everyone’s unique body.  She teaches the 200/500 hour Teacher trainings as well as the Ascension Alignment Based Aerial Yoga Teacher Certification.  Kelly leads classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings at her studio, statewide, as well as internationally in Costa Rica, and Bali.


  • Jenny Lintvedt

    Jenny brings to her yoga teaching a background in Exercise Science as well as an intense interest in eastern religion and philosophy. She received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her Master’s in Exercise Science from Oakland University. She is certified as an ERYT 500 yoga teacher, registered through the governing body of Yoga Alliance. Jenny was first drawn to the mind/body connection and mindful meditation while completing her Master’s studies. She was drawn to yoga as way to find inner peace and stillness through flowing movement, pranayama and meditation. She is committed to honoring the mind/body connection and the continual discovery of Self. Jenny is also a certified group cycling instructor, recently recertifying and completing the Lemond Group Cycling training program.

  • Mari Dew

    Mari Dew brings the experience of her 30-year career in the music industry to her new path as a circle facilitator, spirit guide and teacher of yoga and shamanism.  Her teachings and circles are infused with music and mantra, from deeply powerful sound healings to lighthearted chants that are accessible to anyone, even beginners.  Mari is devoted to working with the Naad, the sacred sound current, and helping people to manifest and transform their lives by aligning with its vibration. 

    Mari has completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teaching certification from YogaWorks; a 220-hour Level One Aquarian Teacher certification plus the Vitality and Stress module of her Level Two Aquarian Teacher training from KRI (Kundalini Research Institute); as well a Shakti Naam Yoga teaching certification from the Naam Yoga Center in LA.  She graduated in Fall 2018 from the One-Year Program for Shamanic Studies with The Power Path School of Shamanism in Santa Fe, NM, and also completed the first level of their Shamanic Practitioners training.  Mari feels a deep connection with the shamanic life and hopes that a composite of the knowledge and teachings that she is receiving on her Soul Journey can be shared and inspire others to discover and refine their own paths and find their own inner shamans.

  • Deb Keys

    Debra is a retired RN who has always had a passion for supporting others in following a healthy lifestyle. She is a certified 200hr RYT and is currently working towards her 500hr certification. She is passionate about her own Yoga practice and desires to share not only the benefits of Asana and Pranayama practice, but also principles rooted in Yoga Philosophy which she incorporates into her classes.  Her personal practice is in Ashtanga and she strives to follow the eight limb Philosophy in guiding her life. Her teaching interests include Slow Flow Vinyasa, Yoga basics with an emphasis on proper alignment, and pranayama, Yin, and working with seniors. 
    She and her husband spend their winter months in Kauai where she teaches at Kalaheo Yoga Studio, she also volunteers at a Rehab/Care center where she teaches Chair Yoga.

  • Naomi Cole

    Naomi Cole, E-RYT 200 

    200 Hath Yoga Certified, Birth & Postpartum Doula, Prenatal Yoga Certified through Mama Tree Yoga of San Francisco.  Postnatal Yoga Certified through Toronto Yoga Mamas.

    Naomi was introduced to meditation and yoga at eight years old, and would use these practices to help with calming the mind and body as a child.

    Naomi is passionate in teaching others, having them personally learn the benefits of a yoga practice and meditation.  Naomi was taught the Mandala of the Five Wisdom Dakinis meditation, by Lama Tsultrim Allione.  The first American to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun in the Karms Kagyu lineage.  

  • Andria Flegel

    Andria has been practicing yoga since she was 18 and began her journey as a yoga teacher in 2017.  In addition to yoga, she also holds certifications as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer.  Drawn to flow based classes, Andria incorporates breath, meditation, and mindfulness to her practice for overall balance.  She respects each person's individual jouney, and her mission is to empower others to become their happiest, healthiest self.

  • Maryl Kohl

    Maryl spent 30 years in the corporate world as a marketing professional and knows first-hand how workplace stress and other life challenges can compromise our physical and emotional well-being. The release she discovered from yoga was profound and flipped her life around. Now, as a yoga instructor, her goal is to help others feel their own transformation. Maryl completed 200-hour teacher training with the nationally recognized YogaWorks program in Seattle, under the guidance of Katherine Munro. She is certified in teaching Chair Yoga and is currently enrolled in Gentle Yoga training, looking forward to certification as well. She has two children, a cat, and is happy to have recently moved back to northern Michigan from the west coast!


  • Mary Karsten

    Yoga has been a part of Mary’s life for over five years, and her practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat.  Yoga inspires her to live each moment more mindfully.

    Mary Karsten completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2016, and is currently working toward her 500 hour advanced training with Kelly Stiglich.  Mary considers herself a forever student of the practice and is deeply grateful for the wisdom and support from teachers and mentors.  

    In her classes, she loves to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice.  She seeks to support and help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga.  Her hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished, and empowered. 

  • Janet Weaver

    Janet has devoted her life to helping others. With a master’s degree in nursing, she has spent her adult life in clinical nursing, nurse leadership and nurse consulting. She has personally experienced the profound joy of practicing Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga and felt inspired to share with others the improved physical, mental and emotional well-being she experienced. Thus, began her journey into deeper learning and her decision to become a yoga instructor.

    Janet studied with Kelly Stiglich in 2016 at the Shanti School of Yoga where she earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification. In 2017 she entered a two-year 300-hour training with Libby Robold at Yoga for Health Education Mentoring Academy. In June 2019, Janet graduated her 300-hour training and became a RYT 500 certified yoga instructor.

    Janet previously studied with the Chopra Institute where she attended numerous seminars. In July 2015, she earned certification in Ayurveda as a Perfect Health Instructor. 

    Janet has practiced many yoga styles, including classical Hatha Yoga, Bikram, Ashtanga, Gentle, Restorative, Yin and Vinyasa. She continues to enhance her knowledge and teaching skills by attending a variety of workshops and classes.

    As an instructor, Janet’s focus is keeping students safe. She finds pleasure in helping students improve strength, flexibility and balance in an enjoyable, fun setting. Breath control and mindful reflection are offered to round out the student’s practice of yoga. Her greatest joy is helping students leave a class feeling better than when they arrived. Janet looks forward to meeting and helping you to find a fulfilling yoga practice.  Namaste.




  • Madeline Vasquez

    Hello, my name is Madeline Vasquez. I live in Northern Michigan with my husband and son - Quintin. I truly believe there is not a better place to live and have a family. I have worked in Elk Rapids, Michigan for 6 years at Wildflower Soapworks. Where I've learned so much about aromatherapy and naturally healing the body. I have an incredible passion for the wellness of our body Mind and Spirit. Yoga has turned into a lifestyle for me and I am extremely eager to share my passion with this wonderful community in Elk Rapids.

  • Jan Boettcher

    Jan is a certified Yoga instructor, completing her training in 2016, through Yen Yoga in Traverse City.  She is a certified SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Yoga instructor, completing her training in June 2016.  

    Jan completed Chair Yoga training from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, in the belief that yoga is for everyone regardless of physical limitations.  

    Jan's classes are designed to be accessible for all experience levels, while providing a safe and inviting environment in which to grow. 


    Jan is a Registered Nurse who practiced 30 years at Munson Medical Center,  where she worked in the Rehabilitation Unit and Cardiology department.

    As a Nurse, Jan enjoys teaching patients about the disease process and ways to cope both physically and spiritually, this made yoga a natural transition in her wellness approach.  

    Jan has embraced the benefits of yoga through her studies and daily practice and hopes to assist others in achieving their goals on and off the mat.

    Jan believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, physical limitations, or religious beliefs.  Yoga philosophy and practice have helped deepen her own Christian faith and belief in interconnection between all people.

  • Marjie Wilson

    Marjie has her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from Michigan State University, and has been a practicing Nurse/Nurse Practitioner for 37 years.  She has recently left clinical practice, devoting time to study and completing the 200 hour yoga teacher training earlier this year.

    With her focus on wellness and preventative health, she believes yoga practice plays an integral role in overall well being, flexibility, bone health, stress reduction and pain relief.

    She will be offering group and private yoga sessions, individual health and wellness counseling, home practice (Sadhana) development while assisting students to find their inner truth and peace in their lives.   

  • Amy Routzahn

    I have enjoyed practicing yoga for over twenty years.  I spend my days with 3-5 year olds at the Childrens House.  The loves of my life are my daughters.  They are twelve and thirteen.  I have been teaching children for over twenty years and guiding students in yoga for over five years.  I have a passion for sharing yoga and mindfulness with children/teenagers.  I practice all types of yoga and enjoy teaching yin, vinyasa, and gentle.  

  • Jamie Bell

    Jamie Bell is a Traverse City native who is passionate about maintaining simplicity in her life, through the continual practice of mindfulness.  She understands that the work that one does on the mat flows into all aspects of life.  Jamie serves as a teacher who reminds us to surrender expectations, and that we are continually in the process of change.  She has devoted her life to giving back through service projects and her passion for the non profit world.  Jamie began teaching in 2011 after completing her training with Karina Mirsky of Sangha Yoga, and she is schooled in the teachings of Rodney Stryker's Para Yoga.  Additionally, she has spent many hours studying with Boulder based Yogi, Shannon Paige.

    Leslie has been practicing Yoga since her teens. She was first drawn to Yoga for the physical practice and learned how we can benefit both spiritually and mentally. Leslie loves any type of Hot Yoga and is drawn to fiery, flow practices. She also has a love for Gentle, Yin and Restorative practice, recognizing the need for balance. Teaching is her way to give back and share the benefits with her students. We all need to heal in some way and Yoga helps us to do that. If we are not learning, we are not growing, Yoga gives us a gift of building a relationship internally, so that we can share our gifts with others. We find peace through consistent loyal dedication to the practice.

     Leslie became a 200 hour certified Teacher in 2012 through Yen Yoga and Fitness in Traverse City Michigan with Jenny Lintvedt. She is working on completing her 500 hour certification with Janet Stone Yoga, developing a love for Mantras Movement and Chanting.
    She is also certified in SUP Yoga  through Bliss Paddle Laguna Beach California, and has lead SUP Yoga Teacher trainings for the last 7 years bringing together the connection of Yoga Water and Nature. Leslie facilitates workshops sharing her studies and learning of the 8 Limb Path of Yoga.
