Lunar Flow and More
1 hour with Jan Boettcher
Lunar Flow and More will include a series of poses that honor the feminine energy of the moon as well as gentle traditional poses. Chandra Namaskara, the Sanskrit name for the moon is a cooling meditative series of postures with movement flowing in a lateral direction facing the long side of the mat. The side stretches and circular movements can be considered to represent the phases of the moon as it waxes and wanes. We will incorporate meditative movement with breath as we turn our attention inward creating space and balance. This class is open to all levels.

Yin Yang Yoga
1 hour with Jan Boettcher
Yin/Yang yoga is a practice that balances the slow-paced Yin yoga with the traditional Yang yoga (Ashtanga and Hatha). Yin/Yang yoga has its roots in China in the Taoist concepts of yin — a feminine, passive, cooling energy — and yang — a masculine, dynamic, warming energy. Just as the Taoists believe that yin and yang complement each other and one cannot exist without the other, the Yin/Yang yoga practice uses both types of yoga to provide both physical and spiritual balance.

Yin Yoga
1 hour with Jan Boettcher
Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga, however, it directs the stimulation beyond the muscular (yang) tissues and instead targets connective (yin) tissues such as ligaments, bones, and even joints of the body that normally are not excercised very much in a more active style of Asana practice. You will experience yin poses as well as gentle yoga flows, engaging the breath. Yin poses target the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Class is for all levels of yoga including beginners.
